3DS MAX... Reactor... Ragdoll torture... My first animation...
Wandering about YouTube, it occurs to me that it seems like its a common practice that when one is learning the reactor physics engine inside 3DS MAX, they do so by torturing poor, defenseless ragdolls. Hell... some have made the practice an art form.

Below is my attempt (also, I might add, my first true computer animation). Now, I am humbled to admit that it took me five hours to complete this. But considering this was the first time I've ever touched a physics engine (not to mention the first time doing key frame animation in 3DS) I am not too ashamed.

In fact, I am quite proud of my work...

okay. I give.

Can you help me get a copy of zbrush, somehow? How much is it?

I'm... working in Maya. It's taken me 3 days, but i made half a helmet.

...I need something that's faster to learn. Although, I have a feeling that maya might be 'better' for like... complete renders or...whatever. But I dunno. I mean what, exactly are you using?

With the key frame animations... do you only set certain frames and it fills in the animation automatically? Can you change paths after you set frames? I need to know more!

And I wanna animate angerbunny. Which is why I picked up maya in the first place.

But with maya, I set points and cut away textures point-by-point. It's very time-consuming. It's insanely time consuming. ANd then just smoothing out objects like a sphere and all those points.... it makes my eyes go screwy. I'm getting more and more used to it... but sometimes you blink and all those lines and points and grids just turn into a blurry mess after your 5th hour.

Do they have a mirror mode in zbrush? Where you can make exactly one half of the character then mirror it so that you get a complete symmetrical body/model?

Maya can. Just curious.

hehe neat; if you imagine the rag doll as say for instance... George Bush Jr. it doesn't seem nearly as mean :-D
